Purposeful Programming

I studied computer science at Texas A & M in the 1990s to become a computer science teacher.
I then jumped into family life and took up homeschooling. As my own children and friends' children grew,
we needed a programming teacher. In the fall of 2018, I began teaching JavaScript with a "beginners" programming book.
Despite "using a book", much of the material I taught ended up being my own completely new
material. In fact, while teaching, I never found a beginner’s programming book that really worked for beginners.
When my daughter asked me to teach her Python, I thought, “Why am I working so hard to make someone else’s impractical book work?” Thus, an idea was born and the first book, Try a Nybble of Python soon followed. |
